About Klondike / Klondyke
“The last game in this group is Klondyke. In all references to be found in Nevada statutes, the spelling is with any. All other references to a card game of this name are spelled klondike and refer to either a gambling solitaire game also called canfield or a banking game similar to six-card stud. The name of the gambling solitaire game dates back to 1902 in the Dictionary of Americanism. There is a problem with determining whether the reference is to the banking game or to the solitaire game.”
